I'm teaching a class this month, and I have to admit: it's hard not to pick favorites. Some of the students are just so wonderful, and others...are not.
I often feel that way about my SAT students. Some are really engaged and make it nice to deal with them. Others, though, are barely literate and make me weep for the future of America (like my football player student in Hazelwood).
yeah, it's cool when you can draw a student out who did not seem engaged. I had this one student who slept for most of the first two months of school, but now I have to remind him to raise his hand rather than call out answers. It's cool to see him get into this stuff (we're doing ammendments/constitution stuff).
