10 things I hate

...a negative nilly's take on the ol' "10 things I love" list

people talking during movies/tv shows
being "spoiled"
people who are "too cool" to have a good time
name dropping
the sound of the alarm clock
people who "don't watch t.v." and think they are superior because of it
filing
doing laundry
taking out the trash
changing lightbulbs

Why changing lightbulbs?

ugh! Chaning lightbulbs is such a chore. Epecially, lightbulbs in overhead lightfixtures. You have to stand on a chair, try to un-hook the fixutre and dodge falling peices of ceiling and dust that head straight for your eyes and face. I hate it!

Yeah, that's pretty sucky. In Ma n Pa's house, all the overhead fixtures had , over the lightbulbs, a piece of glass which diffused the light. It was a small square (less than a foot on a side), parallel to the ceiling. Sort of like this, but less dangly.

Anyway, the light diffusion = good. Not so good, though, was that these things became, at certain times of the year, dead bug collectors. And whenever you went to change a lightbulb, you just knew that you were going to have to deal with the insect corpses. Really gross stuff.
